Shop owner disrupts voting in Odi community, Bayelsa

The voting process was disrupted at Unit 3, Ward 3 in Odi Community of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area in Bayelsa State as a middle-aged lady protested  against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for using her shop as a polling unit, thereby depriving her from making sales while other shops were open for business.

It took the intervention of personnel of the Nigerian Army deployed for election duty to calm the protesting lady, who insisted that election in the unit would not hold if the party that appeared to be leading in the unit fails to settle her loses while the election lasted.

Casting his vote after the drama, a member of the Buhari Campaign Council, Preye Aganaba commended the INEC for bring electoral materials on time and commencing the voting process early as they promised.

He further stated that so far, there have been no report of card reader malfunction and material hijacking, saying the process is peaceful.

“However, we have a flash point, Unit 5 where an ex-militant is causing problems but I am sure security men have gone there to calm the situation.
