An Ado-Ekiti Customary Court in Ekiti State has dissolved a 10-year-old marriage between Mr Ilori Ayotunde Ilori and his wife, Yetunde.

The petitioner seeks the  dissolution of his marriage on the grounds of acts of adultery by his wife  and lack of care for him.

Ayotunde, a furniture maker, told the court that his wife was fond of having affairs with different men while she was leaving in his house.

He said the respondent often stayed back in her shop for longer hours and would not bother to prepare dinner for him.

He, therefore, appealed to the court to dissolve their marriage with the respondent to enable him have rest of mind.

He also prayed the court to grant him custody of their two children.

The respondent, a hair dresser, failed to show up in court having been served court summons thrice.

The court president, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, after hearing the testimony of the petitioner, observed that the marriage had broken down irretrievably and consequently dissolved the marriage.

He ruled that the petitioner should be paying a sum of N5,000 as monthly feeding allowance and be responsible for the children’s education at all levels.

He further ordered the petitioner to start paying the monthly allowance beginning from May 31, through the court.
