Ile Tuntun Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, has adjourned till May 28, a divorce suit brought before it by a woman, Remi Deinde against her husband, Ope Deinde.

Remi had urged the court to terminate their nine-year-old relationship and award her custody of their only child.

The plaintiff stated in her suit that their marriage had been facing challenges for some time and that she wished to put an end to it so that she could move on with her life.

The defendant acceded to claim when it was read to him.

“We were doing well early in our marriage and our relationship was smooth, but as years went by, we started encountering challenges and having differences which we found difficult solving amicably.

“I ended up walking out of our marriage three and a half years ago.  My lord, I plead for divorce in order that I may move on with life, “the plaintiff stated.

“It is true we started having issues with our marriage at a point in time which resulted in us fighting every time.  She always frustrated every effort made by our family members at resolving our differences.

“I was advised to get her a job so that she would be occupied and earn a living instead of been solely dependent on me.

“I did exactly this and further bought her cars at three different times. She suddenly packed her belongings and moved out of our home after I bought her the third car.

“My father tried his best to ensure our differences were resolved and that she moved back home, but she refused, “the defendant said.
