Seven Muslim worshipers perish during early morning suicide explosion

AN early morning suicide bomb explosion has occurred at the Goni Lashibe mosque in Konduga the headquarters of Konduga almost forty kilometres from Maiduguri killing about seven people.

Eyewitnesses told newsmen that the lone suicide bomber made an incursion into a group of Muslims praying in the mosque just before first light and detonated his device on them.

Officials of the national emergency management agency NEMA who confirmed the incident to newsmen Monday said that about seven others praying at the same venue the same mosque sustained injury.

A recent collaborative move between the men of the Nigerian police Borno state command and the intelligence team of the inspector general of police IG Ibrahim Idris has revealed that most of the suicide bombings within the Maiduguri metropolis were done by culprits residing among the sympathetic population in Maiduguri.
