Set your priorities right, Cleric urges Abiodun

THE Bishop of Diocese of Egba, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Right Reverend Oludiaisi Adekunle, has admonished the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to write his name in gold by embarking on developmental projects.

Adekunle, in his sermon, at the post-inauguration thanksgiving service held on Sunday, at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter’s, Ake, advised Abiodun to fulfil all his promises by running a people-oriented administration.

The cleric told him not to abandon all uncompleted projects of the immediate past administration in the interest of the people in particular, and the State in general.

Adekunle identified the problem of water supply as one of the major challenges facing the people of the State, especially, Abeokuta, the State capital.

“Set your goals and all that you have promised the people to work at it and by that, you will have written your name in gold in the hearts of the people,” he said.

Bishop Adekunle emphasised the need for the new administration to reconstruct rural roads to make life more meaningful for the dwellers and also called for the renovation of public buildings in a bad state.

The cleric also appealed to the governor to boost Small and Medium Scale businesses in order to make the State more economically viable.

He also charged Abiodun to prioritise technical education and also advocate the return of mission schools.

Abiodun reaffirmed that his administration would not abandon any uncompleted projects of his predecessor, adding that the cost of such projects could be reviewed.

He assured that his government planned to hold an education summit which he believed would address some of the challenges confronting the education sector.
