Governor Seyi Makinde
Chairman, Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation, Chief Bayo Lawal former Assembly Speaker, Hon Kehinde Ayoola, former member of the state Assembly, Hon Adeniyi Farinto; former Chairman, Ibadan North West local government area, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun are among the of 14 persons set to become commissioners in Oyo State.
The list of commissioner nominees as reeled out by Speaker of the state Assembly, at Thursday’s plenary, also includes academics, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo who is a Professor of Public Law at the University of Lagos; and Professor Daudu Sangodoyin; Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye; lawyer to former Senator Rashidi Ladoja, Rahman Abdulraheem; son of former Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Mr Seun Asamu.
The 14-man squad to make up Governor Seyi Makinde’s cabinet is completed by Mr Adeniyi Adebisi, Honourable Muyiwa Oyekunle, Mrs Funmilayo Orisadeyi, Dr Bashir Bello and Mr Akinola Ojo.
As reported in Thursday’s publication of Nigerian Tribune, the list comprises one female and 13 males.
Though Speaker of the Assembly did not announce date for commencement of screening, he asked the nominees to forward their curriculum vitae and credentials to the Assembly by next Friday, August 2.
Makinde had on Wednesday forwarded the list of nominees to the Speaker of the Assembly.
Addressing journalists after plenary, Speaker of the Assembly, Ogundoyin avowed confidence at the spread and pedigree of the nominees.
He held that the list showed Makinde’s emphasis on capability beyond political affiliations.
