Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour Employment and Productivity and Vice Chairman of the Federal Character, Senator Diket Plang, has rejoiced with the people of Plateau Central and the entire people of Plateau State as they celebrate this year’s Easter to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Senator Plang, who is the Senator representing Plateau Central of Plateau, urged the people to emulate Jesus Christ’s virtues of humility, perseverance, and compassion, which made him die on the cross for the atonement of our sins and reconcile us with God.
The Senator, in his Easter message, urged the people of Plateau State and the entire country to demonstrate love towards one another irrespective of creed and religious affiliations and charged the Christians in particular to embrace the virtue of peace and harmony as exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ.
He said, “I wish all the people of Plateau Central, Plateau State, and the entire Nigeria a happy Easter as we remember the sacrifice and love of Jesus towards mankind. The message of Easter is that of sacrifice, tolerance, harmony, perseverance, and undying love.
“We should also use this occasion to pray for our country and those in leadership positions. We should also take time to establish good relationships with our neighbors, as demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Senator Plang also called on Nigerians to have sober reflections, particularly at this moment when the nation is facing insecurity and an economic downturn.
