Senator Katung lights up Southern Kaduna communities with solar electrification

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Southern Kaduna senatorial district, has commenced rural solar electrification of some remote villages in the senatorial district.

Many communities in Sanga, Kagarko, Jema’a, Kaura, Jaba, Kachia, Kauru, and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas, including institutions, are beneficiaries of Senator Katung’s solar lights intervention.

In a statement signed by his special adviser for media and communications, Midat Joseph, said already, some of the solar lights have already been installed while others are being installed in various communities—bringing joy and excitement to “our people.”

He described Senator Katung’s intervention as a dividend of quality representation, which is making communities more liveable and boosting the local economy.

“The people are excited that the installation of the street lighting is also enhancing security and social life because people now have visibility to carry out businesses,” he said.

A constituent, Mr. Barnabas Chawai, commended Senator Katung for his unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people.

He said, “The provision of solar street lights presents a transformative initiative for the people of southern Kaduna.”

The rural solar electrification project is a component of governance that benefits everyone irrespective of political or other affiliations; hence, his delight to welcome the legislator.

Another constituent, Mrs Bulus Alkali, also expressed delight at the gesture and said the people appreciate Senator Katung not only for the solar lights but for constantly identifying with the needs of the people in different circumstances.
