Senator Jarigbe presents tractor to cooperative soceity to boost farming in C’River

In a bid to boost mechanised farming and support large-scale farming enterprise of the cooperative society, the senator representing Cross River State North senatorial district, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has presented a new MF 375 tractor to Jarified Brothers Cooperative Society Limited.

Nigerian Tribune reports that the initiative is in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to modernise agriculture and promote self-sufficiency in food production.

While presenting the tractor to the cooperative, Mr. Gospel Agom, on behalf of the senator, called on government at all levels and stakeholders to support agriculture, stressing that this is the next ‘oil’ for Nigeria.

He noted that Senator Jarigbe’s objective in the agricultural sector is mainly to increase productivity and food security in the senatorial district.

The jubilant farmers thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and urged other government officials to follow suit.

The farmers said the tractor will inspire them to put more effort into their farm cultivation, which would in turn improve the economy of the Cross River North senatorial district and the entire state.
