Senator calls on security agencies to apprehend suspects who attacked his media aide

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, on Saturday, called on security agencies to immediately arrest the suspected thugs who attacked his Special Assistant (Print and Electronic) Media, Mr. Ameh Godwin.

The media aide was recently beaten to coma by the political thugs at the instance of one of the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming Local Government election in the State following a little misunderstanding.

In a statement issued by a senior legislative aide to the senator, Emmanuel Eche Ofune Moro said that thuggery had remained anathema to the culture of good governance and ways of life which must be discouraged, adding that an attack on any of his aides, is practically an attack on his person and the office he is currently occupying.

He described the attack as unwarranted, dastard and heinous, saying there was no reason for such an act no matter the level of provocation.

The senator, therefore, called on security agencies to immediately arrest those behind the physical assault and be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He sympathized with Ameh over the unfortunate incident and promises to do everything within the ambit of the law to ensure justice is done to serve as a deterrent to others who may want to further engage in such barbaric.
