According to the lawmaker, impatience often leads to failure or destruction, which is not part of Allah’s plan for human beings.

“Patience and contentment are good virtues. They help in achieving greatness and good living worthy of emulation. These are what we learnt from our aged and it works. I want to urge the younger generation to be patient and work to be closer to God,” he said.

The Ogbomoso-born governorship hopeful, who admonished Nigerians to rededicate their lives to God, said: “We have come a long way as a nation. We may not be where we ought to be yet but with time and total commitment to the growth of this nation by all and sundry, we shall get there.”

The guest lecturer, Sheikh Suleiman Al-Madani, speaking on the theme of the lecture, “Patience, Endurance and Contentment, said Allah always blesses people with these virtues with greatness.

“We humans are always in a hurry; we want to get things done quickly without minding the consequences. But if we are patient enough to allow God’s intervention, no matter how rough the beginning may be, we will always be happy in the end,” Sheikh Al-Madani said.

The preacher commended Senator Buhari for his commitment to the promotion of Islam and urged others to emulate him.

The chairman of the occasion, Dr Saka Balogun, described Buhari as a responsible lawmaker with listening hears to the yearnings of the people.
