Senate Presidency: I won’t step down ― Ndume, meets Osinbajo

Published by

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday met with former Senate Leader, Mohammed Ndume, for about an hour at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after which the Borno State Senator indicated that he was not ready to step down from the race.

Ndume representing Borno South has been under intense pressure to cede the post to Senator Ahmed Lawan favoured by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

It was thought that his meeting with the Vice President was in continuation of the effort to encourage him to abandon his ambition.

However, he said declined to speak further on the Senate Presidency race as he maintained that he was still holding consultation.

“This is not the time to talk now because I am still holding consultation,” he declared.
