Published by

Senator Danjuma Goje has withdrawn his interest in the contest for Senate presidency, now supporting the ambition of Senator Ahmed Lawan for the headship of the ninth Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Goje’s endorsement of Lawan for the top position of the upper chamber came after both Senators met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

Goje, the former Gombe State Governor told reporters in State House that he endorsed Lawan because Buhari asked him to do so.

President  Buhari met with the two main contenders for the Senate Presidency of the ninth Assembly, Goje and Lawan, in company of Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State.
