Senate presidency: ‎Northern youths support Goje

Hundreds of youths under the platform of the Northwest wing of Coalition of Northern Youth Organisations stormed the secretariat of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Kaduna to drum their support for Senator Danjuma Goje calling on him to declare for the Senate presidency of the 9the National Assembly.
The youths carrying various banners, including, ” Goje for 9th Senate”, ” Goje best for next level”, among others, described Senator Goje as the most qualified Senator to occupy the office of the Senate President.
They also went to the Northwest zonal secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, along Isa Kaita road, Unguwar Sarki to present their letter supporting Goje candidature.
Speaking at the rally Chairman of the group, Alh Hassan Idris said the groups will not accept any unfair endorsement and purported endorsement of the candidate from the northeast region.
He said a level playing ground must be given to all the contenders for the Senate Presidency, saying none of the contenders should be forced on the Red Chamber, come June.
Aside Goje, Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno) and Senator Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe ) are also eyeing the Senate Presidency.
“We owe it a sense of duty to demand and insist that, the contenders to the seat of the Senate Presidency must subject themselves to a level playing democratic process of equal opportunity. Importantly,
“The North West wing of the Coalition of Northern Youth Organizations is calling on all concerned persons to prevail on Senator Danjuma Goje to declare and run for the Presidency of the 9th Senate,” he said.
He described Goje as a better and more prepared for the office and stands taller in the race than others.
Receiving the letter Administrative Assistant to the Secretary APC North West office, Malam Suleiman Adamu assured the group that their letter will be delivered to the party’s North West secretary who will later forward it to the National Secretariat for action.
‎Also, the Auwal Gote Coordinator Coalition of North West Youth Consultative awareness Committee said Senator Goje is found to be the most acceptable and most experienced from the region.
Also, the North West Coordinator of the Coalition Engineer Musa Idris said as a group they rejected the endorsement of candidates for Senate President by the ruling party ‎leadership.
