The Senate on Tuesday, approved the nomination of Dr. Chukwuemeke Agbasi, for appointment as the Managing Director of Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
It also confirmed the nominations of nine other persons as members of the Board of FERMA.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu’s letter formally seeking the request of the Senate for confirmation of his 11 nominees was read on the floor of the Red Chamber on November 1.
Those confirmed along with Dr Agbasi include, Mr Terms Manasseh, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, Senator Timothy Aduda and Mr. Babatunde Daramola.
Others are Mr. Preye Oseke, Aminu Adamu Papa, Mr Abubakar Bappa, Shehu Mohammed and Yusuf Othmam.
Their confirmation followed the adoption of a report of the Senate Committee on FERMA led by Senator Hussaini Uba which screened the nominees at the Committee of the Whole.
Submitting his report, Senator Uba urged the Senate to consider the request of President Tinubu for the confirmation of the nominees in accordance with section 2(1)(2) of the FERMA Act 2002.
