According to the organiser, a US-based music promotion company, Sammek Entertainment, owned by Mr Samuel Ekundayo, the multi-faceted cultural event is put together in partnership with the Alliance of Yoruba Organisations and Clubs and other well established cultural association and promoters in the USA and Nigeria to promote the values and morals of various Nigerian cultures.
“As we all know, Nigeria encapsulates great and beautiful culture and tradition which need to be more jealously guided and promoted because of its many influences all over the world.
“Therefore, Festival of Culture is a viable platform to boost the cherished and rich culture. And one of the most culturally inclined act in the Nigerian entertainment sphere, Ambassador Segun Nabi, popularly called Mr Pamela, has been billed to headline the event with veteran Nigerian musicians,” the statement read.
Segun Nabi, who has more than 13 albums enriched with Yoruba ideologies and have had his cultural music cross African borders, will be having a tour performance with veteran Nigerian musicians such as Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, Sir Shina Peters, King Wasiu Ayinde, Queen Ayo Balogun and Adewale Ayuba at different venues.
Some of the events include Ankara Nite, with Segun Nabi and King Wasiu Ayinde, which will hold on August 26, at Conrfettis Event Center, MD, while Miliki Nite featuring Segun Nabi and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, will hold on December 28, at D Ranch Restaurant, Maryland, US.
Some other activities like cultural exhibition, talent hunts, workshop, the Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa traditional dances, musical, theatrical performances, and teachings on how to beat different types of cultural drums, have been lined up to make the event a memorable one.
