Security threat: Bauchi, Gombe Police at alert

FOLLOWING an intelligence report of a planned attack on viewing centres during the period of the ongoing World Cup in Russia, the Bauchi State Police Command has assured members of the general public that it is not taking the threat lightly and all hands are on deck to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
To this effect according to the PPRO, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, an intensive patrol and intelligence gathering is ongoing to forestall any possible attack while the Command is calling on the members of the general public to be security conscious of their environment.
In the same vein, the general public was called upon to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies involved in the operation and equally report any suspicious person or object to the Police for prompt action.
In Gombe, the PPRO, DSP Obed Mary while reacting to the threat disclosed that “all proactive measures have been put in place, there is enough deployment, all tactical operation points are active”.
