Security: DESOPADEC completes police building project in Delta

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has inaugurated a police station project completed by the Delta State Oil Producing Areas and Department Commission (DESOPADEC), at Mosogar,  Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking at the event, last week, Managing Director of DESOPADEC, Olorogun Makinde, disclosed that the interventionist agency took over the construction of the divisional police station because of its importance in boosting security in the area.

Governor Okowa, during the inauguration, said proactive steps would always be taken to nip in the bud security threats in the state.

The governor commended the people of Mosogar Kingdom for providing an enabling environment for the construction of the police station DESOPADEC to strengthen security in the area.

“We will always take proactive steps to boost security; we have to ensure we are not taken unawares because in peace, we have more development,” he said.

He commended security operatives for their roles in ensuring security of lives and property.

Okowa observed that government has always found it easy to site development projects in Mosogar Kingdom because of their peaceful disposition and support to the state government.

He used the occasion to call on politicians to always attract development to their communities, adding that his administration would remain committed to boosting the infrastructure in the state.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Muhammad Mustafa, represented by DCP Ngozi Onadeko, said, “let me assure you that the command’s management team will ensure that the division is assisted in every way humanly possible to enable the officers posted here perform optimally.”

Earlier, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Ighoyota Amori, disclosed that the police station was very important because Mosogar plays host to a College of Education and is fast-growing into a city.
