A section of Oyo indigenes has staged a peaceful protest against the delay in the selection of the new Alaafin of Oyo.
The protest was staged at the entrance of the State High Court, Awe where a suit filed by some members of Oyomesi took place on Tuesday.
The protesters displayed placards with inscriptions such as ” On Alaafin let dignity reign” Due process, Ifa consultation are sacrosanct. ” Follow tradition not money. ” Alaafin of Oyo is not for sale”.
The protesters insisted that Due Process must be followed noting place of Alaafin in Yoruba history.
