Second year in office: NANS Southwest hails Gov Adeleke’s performance

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest has lauded Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, for his commitment to the development of the state.

This praise was contained in a statement issued by the NANS Southwest Assistant General Secretary, Kayode Adeyemo, on Wednesday, marking the second anniversary of Adeleke’s administration.

According to the statement, the governor’s policies and achievements serve as a testament to his dedication to creating a better Osun State for all.

It was further noted that his commitment to the welfare of the people has led to extraordinary progress in the state.

NANS expressed optimism that Governor Adeleke’s legacy would include significant strides within the student community.

“On behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on the remarkable occasion of his second anniversary as the Executive Governor of Osun State.

“In just two years, your visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of Osun State have brought about extraordinary progress that resonates deeply with the people.

Your administration’s impactful policies and achievements stand as a testament to your dedication to creating a better Osun State for all.

“Notable among your laudable accomplishments are: the approval of NGN 75,000 as the new minimum wage for Osun workers, a significant step toward improving the quality of life for civil servants; clearing seven months’ worth of unpaid half salaries from the 30 months inherited, showcasing your resolve to address inherited burdens with fairness and integrity; the release of NGN 16 billion in bonds to pensioners under the Contributory Pension Scheme, reflecting your administration’s empathy and prioritization of the elderly who gave their best to the state; payment of NGN 2.74 billion in wage awards to civil servants and pensioners, further cementing your commitment to ensuring economic stability for public servants; and cash-backing promotions previously approved but left without financial implications, ensuring workers’ career advancements are matched with financial rewards.

“Additionally, you restored confidence and dignity in public service by abolishing the title of Coordinating Directors and reintroducing Permanent Secretaries in ministries.

Your consistent investment in the continuous training of staff to enhance performance and efficiency across the workforce further demonstrates your commitment to effective governance.

“Your Excellency, these milestones reflect your steadfast dedication to the welfare of Osun workers, pensioners, and the overall development of the state.

Your tenure has redefined governance, placing Osun State on the path of prosperity and growth. As students, we recognize and appreciate your efforts to uplift all sectors of the state.

“Once again, congratulations on this milestone! May your administration continue to thrive and bring even greater benefits to the people of Osun State,” the statement concludes.
