Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike, has hailed the impact of President Bola Tinubu on infrastructure development in the nation’s capital, Abuja, as a unimaginable.

The minister disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, during an inspection tour to ascertain the readiness of the projects for commissioning in commemoration of President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.

Wike, who hailed President Tinubu’s Infrastructure development and stated that he has done tremendously well, also advised the opposition that it does not necessarily mean anything good done by the President or government in power.

He said: “The assessment, if you have to take, for example, from the FCT, where I superintend by his mandate, you know that Mr. President has done very, very well. He’s unprecedented. You know the problem we have in this country is that even if you don’t like somebody as a person, the moment he does the good things, you should say yes, I’m not in good terms with him, I don’t like him. However, he’s doing well or he has done well.

“Opposition does not necessarily mean anything good, you say it’s bad. Mr. President has done tremendously well and that’s why, you see, every look and corner of this country, everybody says, give him that opportunity again. And in the next two years, four years, you’ll see what is going to happen.

“So I am quite happy with the achievements Mr. President has recorded, particularly, as it concerns the Federal Capital Territory It has never happened before. Yesterday I said the simple truth, all of us who are critics have said that Abuja is not working and now Abuja is working. Who has made it to work? It’s Mr. President. So I would only like to concentrate and focus on the assignment that we are purely responsible. So Mr. President has done very, very well, I can tell you that.”

While responding to a question of FCT residents chanting, “four plus four” he said: “I am not a student of that. They know. What they have said, 4 plus 4, that Mr. President has done four years, they should give Mr. President another four years. That’s what you mean by 4 plus 4.

“For us, we are just appointees. We are not elected by the people. He’s the only president that has appointed us, and we want to thank almighty God that we have that opportunity to be part of history making. That’s Nigerians van really see indeed there’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
