SDP will wrestle power from APC in Bauchi state

SOCIAL Democratic Party (SDP) has declared that come 2019 general elections it will wrestle power from the ruling APC in Bsuchi state at all level just as it assured all qualified members of a level playing ground for aspirations.

Interim National Secretary of the SDP, Shehu Musa Gabam stated this while picking his membership registration card in his Tilden Fulani ward of Toro LGA in Bauchi state pointing out that the party will not impose candidates on the electorate.

Musa Gabam who formally opened the ward office of the SDP in Tilden Fulani also assured that the party will welcome all shades of people who are disillusioned with the current political dispensation in the country warning however that the party will not condone corruption in whatever guise.

On membership drive, he explained that the party set machinery in motion to canvass for members across the country explaining that since party politics is about number, the SDP as a political party will do everything possible to sell its ideas to Nigerians for acceptability.

He also pointed out that a membership mobilisation and orientation committee will be set up at all levels in order to sell the ideas and policies of the party to intending members because according to him, “We have discovered that such is lacking in the present political dispensation in the country.”

While reacting to the issue of putting in place structures for the party at all levels across the country, the Interim National Secretary of the SDP assured that the ‘Option A4’ made popular during the two party system dispensation in the country will be adopted in order to promote fairness, equity and justice among the members of the party.

He further pointed out that consultations are currently on going to get top politicians in the country to joint the SDP because according to him, “It is the only party that is truly democratic in the country. Very soon you will see the caliber of politicians that will pitch their political tents with us.”

The SDP Scribe then enjoined members of the Bauchi State Executive as well as all the chairmen at the local government areas to embark on membership drive for the party because according to him the Bauchi state secretariat of the party will be opened very soon.
