SDP vows to unseat Buhari in 2019

THE Social Democratic Party (SDP) has vowed that its presidential candidate and former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, will defeat President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2019 general elections.

The party also disclosed that its candidates at all levels are competent, capable and credible enough to give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a run for its money at the polls.

The Ogun State Chairman of SDP, Chief Kunle Majekodunmi, stated this in Abeokuta on Wednesday, while presenting the party’s candidates in the State to newsmen.

Majekodunmi described SDP as the third force which will drive incompetence, corruption and irresponsibility out of the corridors of power.

“The Social Democratic Party is the third force Nigerians have been waiting for and we are determined to deliver on this prospect to give Nigerians a new lease of life.

“The Social Democratic Party is the party to look out for in 2019 and our candidates at all levels, be it federal, state or local government are competent, capable and credible,” he said.

In his acceptance speech, the party’s governorship candidate in the State, Prince Rotimi Paseda, promised not to take the confidence reposed in him by the party for granted.

Paseda also vowed to run an all-inclusive government if voted as the governor on 2019.

According to him, “I will not take this mandate and this confidence for granted. I will cherish it for the rest of my life, but more importantly, as I’ve always said, I will remain committed.

“I will keep an inclusive government, I will be responsible, integrity will not run far from me and I will not do things that in any form would make you begin to doubt my capacity or capability.”

He reiterated his commitment to providing free and quality education, healthcare system, gainful employment opportunities for youths and urban/rural renewal and agricultural scheme.
