Scripture Union Nigeria celebrates children

Published by

Country Representative of the Scripture Union Nigeria (SU), Mr Phillips Adewale Odelana, has urged the Nigerian child to see tomorrow as a possibility.

Odelana, who spoke with TribuneChurch on the occasion of the Children’s Day celebration by the organisation, last Sunday, also praised parents for their efforts on their children.

Odelana, who delivered the sermon at the annual programme, urged children to desist from sinful acts, and instead embrace virtues.

He noted that this year’s edition of the programme was organised by the SU, the SU Press and Books, a subsidiary of the SU Nigeria, and the Calvary Ministries, otherwise known as Capro South West, with the support of Victoria Fellowship Church, Lekki, Lagos.

In his address, Mr Emmanuel Ekwurumadu, who is the Managing Director of Scripture Union (Nig) Press and Books Limited, said Nigerian children are future leaders, and as such, the SU has patterned its programmes to ensure that the Nigerian child is truly great.

The programme featured march past, song presentations, Bible study and was attended by more than 30 primary and secondary schools from Ibadan, Oyo State, with about 900 children participants.
