Scores feared dead, vehicles razed as fuel tanker goes up in flames after colliding with bus in Delta

Published by

Scores of people were feared dead on Tuesday when a petrol tanker burst into flames after colliding with an 18-seater bus at Emuhu near Umunede along the Asaba-Benin expressway in Delta State.

All efforts made to confirm the number of casualties from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Asaba proved abortive but the state Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said four persons died in the accident.

The bus was reduced to rubbles during the inferno while several vehicles that ran into the fire were burnt.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that officials of the FRSC from Agbor and other security agencies had to divert traffic on the busy road through the old road in Emuhu.
