Chairman, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Bright Abeke, has ordered the repair of the failed road portion at Shell Road by His Majesty’s Secondary School, as well as the opening of clogged drainages at Ogodo and Yoruba roads.
Speaking with newsmen during the inspection, Abeke said the aim of the visit was to ascertain the level of work done ahead of the rains to ensure that rainwater can easily find access to already cleared waterways.
Abeke urged the workers to accelerate the tempo of the job in order to avoid the menace of flooding.
Accompanying the chairman were the Chief Whip, Delta State House of Assembly, Honourables Perkins Umukoro; Sunny Ebireri, Acting Chairman, House of Assembly Service Commission, and former state Commissioner for Agriculture, Godfrey Enita.
Others are the HOD Environment, Sapele Local Government Area, Mrs. Celina Igwe; the Supervisory Councilor for Environment, Health and others.
