Sapele council boss, scribe lauded for transforming education sector

The member representing the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) Sapele constituency, Delta State, Comrade Felix Igho Iweta has commended Mr Ejaife Omizu Odebala and Mrs Omamerhi Agbana for transforming the education sector in the area since assumption of office.

Comrade Iweta, who fielded questions from journalists in Sapele, said since Chief Odebala assumed the mantle of leadership as chairman, he had carefully made a good choice of an education secretary to the council in Mrs Agbana who has handled education-related issues well in such a manner that not only pupils are much more willing to learn, but the workforce is now desirous to teach for more hours in the class rooms because of her words of encouragement.

He commended Agbana for using her wealth of experience and humility to turn around the education

sector in the area to a greater standard.

He said her ingenuity has led to smooth academic sessions, system, and a cordial working relationship among staff and management.

Iweta added that Mrs Agbana, a trained lawyer, attends to all teachers’plights accordingly as they come, making the public schools in the area at an advantage over private ones.

According to him, children in public schools now come out best in all external examinations due to the improvement in learning she brought about.

He also commended the head of personnel management (HPM) of the council, Mr Frank Okuejubola including the chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in the area, Comrade Agboro Ufuoma for their immense contributions towards the growth of education in Sapele Local Government area.

He explained that the HPM’s wealth of experience and his cordial working relationship among teachers, management, staff and secretary of local government have also improved learning in the area.
