Sanwo-Olu commiserates with Jigawa gov over son, mother’s death

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated with his Jigawa State counterpart, Umar Namadi, over the death of his eldest son, Abdulwahab, who died in a car accident on Thursday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also extended his condolences to the Namadi family and the people of Jigawa on the passing of the governor’s mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, who died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed heartfelt sympathy over the losses, urging Governor Namadi, the bereaved family, friends, associates, and the people of Jigawa to accept the deaths as an act of God.

“Undoubtedly, the loss of a loved one is deeply painful and irreparable, but we must find solace in God, who gives and takes,” he said.

“On behalf of my family, the people, and the government of Lagos State, I sympathize with my brother Governor Umar Namadi, his wife, the siblings of the deceased, the entire family, and the people of Jigawa State over the irreparable loss of Abdulwahab Namadi.

“We also extend our condolences to the Jigawa State Governor and the entire family on the passing of Hajiya Maryam Namadi.

“Our deepest and heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the Namadi family and the people of Jigawa State during this difficult time,” he added.

Governor Sanwo-Olu prayed for eternal rest for the late Maryam and Abdulwahab Namadi and strength for the family, friends, and associates to bear the losses.

“May God grant eternal rest to the late Maryam and Abdulwahab Namadi and provide the family, friends, and associates with the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses,” he prayed.
