Sally Mbanefo congratulates successor

The immediate pass  Director – General, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation, (NTDC),  Dr Sally Uwecheu Mbanefo has sent a congratulatory letter to  the newly appointed  acting Director – General, Mrs Mariel Rae-Omoh,  thus  broken the jinx of acrimonious relationship which has been the norm in the history of  succession in the corporation .

In a letter of congratulations, Dr Mbanefo noted “I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart for your appointment as the acting Director – General, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation. I have no doubt about your ability to perform and live up to the expectation of the Federal Government. Your appointment, apart from being a  personal achievement and crowning of your efforts as a diligent civil servant, it is also a call to serve the nation and showcase your administrative acumen.

Dr Mbanefo in the letter expressed her delightfulness that the Federal Government has found Mrs Omo worthy to act as the Director – General after her exit

She described Mrs Omo as ‘One of the  thorough bred civil servants which the system has nurtured,  baked  and grounded in the business of selling  and propagating the culture of  tourism”.

Dr Mbanefo revealed “One of her attributes as a civil servant is her passion at doing well whatever she is assigned to do. She understands the business of tourism having been in the service for sometime”.

She prayed to God Almighty to bless her with abundant wisdom.

In a telephone conversation, Dr Mbanefo said “I don’t see anything strange or wrong in me congratulating the person who succeeded me. This is the right thing to do and that should be the culture. NTDC is a government venture. There is time to come, act your part and leave. I cannot be DG of NTDC forever. Everything has its time and season. It is the wish of the Lord for me to be appointed as DG, NTDC. I never lobbied for it or worked against anybody. For the fact that I was removed when my time was up by those in power should not make me harbour hatred or nursing bitterness against my successor. For, the Lord enthrones and removes an appointee at His time. Hence, for me, I wish my successor the very best of tenure and pray for her success. I have moved on.”
