The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Auwal Musa Mohammed, has ordered the deployment of personnel and other things required for watertight security across the state before, during, and after the Eid-El-Fitri Sallah celebrations.
The Command, however, extended its warm greetings to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of the 1445Ah/2024 Eid-el-Fitr celebration, which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting period.
The command also stated that it is committed to providing adequate security measures and a conducive praying environment across the state to ensure a crime-free festivity as well as the protection of lives and properties, which is of utmost priority to the police.
The PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili, said in a statement that “with this goal in mind, the Command has put in place comprehensive security measures, including intelligence gathering by mufti-dressed personnel who will report to the Command’s Central Control Room to forestall any threats to peace and security before, during, and after the festive period.”
The PPRO added that the CP has directed all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to sustain visibility patrols across all black spots and flash points within their Area of Responsibilities (AORs).”
“It is, therefore, imperative to warn those who plan to disrupt the procession that it is too late to do so. They can either join the procession, surrender to the police for rehabilitation, or face necessary action for their wrongdoing,” the statement further contained.
The Command encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station for swift action. They can also make a complaint through the Police Rescue Me app or call emergency numbers: 08151849417 or 09053872273.
“We are confident in our ability to provide a safe and secure environment for all citizens during the festive period,” the statement concluded.
