The iconic TV star, R gathered, is terminally ill as family and friends in the entertainment industry have been making frantic efforts to save the life of the actor, who starred in Kunle Afolayan’s October 1 movie.
Weeks back, news came to town that Daba had been diagnosed with terminal diseases but he would later reveal that he was sick but not dying as against reports doing the rounds. It has now been confirmed that Daba is currently receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and a Gofundme account has been set up on his behalf.
According to a statement by his close associate and journalist, Per Azuka Jebose, the diseases have affected Daba and his family negatively. The staggering cost of treating cancer, according to Jebose, is affecting his family.
“These times, our famous and fantastic movie star, director and one of the pioneers of Nollywood, is terminally ill. Sadiq is battling leukaemia and prostate cancer. These deadly diseases are challenging his existence and comfort. He is determined to beat these. His fight to survive has become ours. We must embrace him just as we embraced his characters on his movies and television acting.”
He stated further that Daba had been receiving treatment at various cancer centres in Nigeria.
“These treatments are costly. He needs us now. We are determined to help him live again, by beating cancer. Please support our goal of $25,000 to pay for his medical bills,” he said.
