The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Saturday that it had successfully brokered a prisoner exchange agreement between Ukraine and Russia, leading to the release of 230 detainees.
In a statement released by the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country confirmed its role in mediating the deal, which resulted in the freedom of 230 individuals held captive by both nations.
“The UAE has successfully mediated a new captives exchange between the Russian Federation and the republic of Ukraine, resulting in the release of 230 captives,” said a foreign ministry statement.
