Royal father seeks relief materials for windstorm ravaged school

The clan head of AssigaAfrekpe, Ova UsangInyangUsang, who made the call while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in his palace on the impact of the devastating windstorm, stated that property estimated at millions of naira was destroyed by the violent storm.

He explained that six classroom blocks, staff quarters and the principal’s office were de-roofed by the windstorm.

The clan head lamented that the natural disaster had hampered the accommodation of the students and described the development as pathetic.

He noted that the windstorm had exposed the students and teachers to untold hardship due to the magnitude of the devastation and appealed to the state government to assist the school to recover from the great loss.

The clan head further noted that the school needed total renovation and the provision of boreholes to alleviate the current hardship faced by the students and teachers.

He also appealed for the posting of security men to the school to protect it from vandals.

Ova Usang lauded the state governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, for the appointment of indigenes of the area in his government and the promotion of staff of the school, pledging the support and loyalty of the people of the area to the governor to enable him actualise his dream for the state.ax
