The Rotary Club of Jabi Lakeside, in collaboration with various partners, organized a successful medical outreach in the Kuchigoro community of Abuja, providing free medical treatment and screening services to residents.
During the event, Rotarian Amobi Ogum, the President of the Rotary Club Abuja Jabi Lakeside, emphasized the club’s commitment to the Kuchigoro community and called on the government and private sector to enhance their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to improve community welfare.
The outreach aimed to cater to over 1,200 residents by offering screenings for HIV, hepatitis, and cervical cancer while also vaccinating children against polio to commemorate World Polio Day. Rotarian Modupe Olufisoye highlighted the importance of these services, and immediate past President Rotarian Olayinka Aduloju noted that this year’s initiative included not only free health services but also clothing distribution for children and food items for community members.

Sadiya Yakubu, a representative from the Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria, mentioned their partnership with Rotary to provide free cervical cancer screenings and raise awareness about the disease.
Beneficiaries shared their gratitude for the outreach. Ozioma Princess, a pupil at LEA Primary School Kuchigoro, appreciated the educational aspects and free tests, while Mr. Balachiqni expressed his excitement about receiving treatment for his ailments. Beauty Monday, a parent, thanked the organizers for the opportunity to bring her children for screenings and treatment.
The event was a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing community health and welfare, demonstrating the Rotary Club’s commitment to making a positive impact.
