Rotary Club of Ibadan holds assessment examination for 100 female WAEC candidates

In its bid to support Girl-Child Education, Rotary Club of Ibadan has held an assessment test for female students to be sponsored for WAEC and other educational assistance in Ibadan.

The test was held for the girls on Friday at Oba Akinbiyi High School, Mokola, Ibadan the Oyo state capital.

About 100 candidates were tested on English and Mathematics.

Speaking, the President of the club Rotarian Kolawole Shittu Adebisi noted that the examination is meant to select outstanding students for the sponsorship of West African Examination Council, WAEC fee for the year 2024 May/June WAEC Examinations.

Adding that the female students were selected from 20 schools across 10 local governments in Ibadan .

Adebisi stated that the Project is in line with the club’s District Governor, DG. Sagab Ahmed ‘s project of the year, while he added that the theme of the project is titled “Ajoke” meaning Girl children  to be nurtured by all .

He further explained that the objective of the project is to facilitate, improve, educate and empower the underprivileged Girl child and as well develop leadership parents and Girl Child counseling and mentoring.

Adebisi however noted that beneficiaries will not only benefit from the sponsorship of their WAEC fee but also have opportunity to free mentorship programme sponsored by the club.

Some of the participating schools include, Urban-day Secondary School, Jericho, Ibadan;IMG Grammar School, Oje Ibadan;Chesire high School, Eleyele Poly Road Ibadan; Ajibode Grammar School, Ajibode;Bishop Academy High School, Ibadan; Abadina College, University of Ibadan, Ibadan; Isabatudeen Girls Grammar School, Bashorun, Ibadan; Atagba Community Grammar School, Boluwaji , Ibadan;Wesley College of Science, Elekuro , Ibadan; Ansar-ud -deen High School, Sango-Eleyele Road, Ibadan; Queen of Apostle , Oluyoro ,Ibadan; Community Secondary School, Awotan , Ibadan; Adekile Goodwill Grammar School, Orita Aperin, Ibadan;Celestial Church High School ;Ibadan, Oba Akinbiyi High School, Mokola , Ibadan;, Ayekale Community Grammar School, Ibadan and Apete Ayegun Community Grammar School.
