Rivers Police confirm killing of two officers in Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two of its officers at Okija street, Mile 1 area of Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command SP. Nnamdi Omoni, while speaking on the sad incident said the command was on the trail of the attackers.

The two slain police officers who were attached to the mile 1 Police Division, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were killed by yet to be identified gunmen.

According to an eye witness, the deceased officers were shot dead Tuesday night while on a stop and search operation at Okija street in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt.

The witness said the gunmen who were inside the vehicle swooped on the Police Officers and shot at them

The witness said the policemen were taken unawares adding that the victims died on the spot.
