The Tony Okocha-led faction of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC, has ordered the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to resign or be impeached.
Okocha made the order on Monday in Port Harcourt, while addressing journalists on the raging controversy regarding the recent Supreme Court judgment on the protracted political crisis in Rivers State.
While explaining the implications of the Supreme Court judgment on the Governor, he said that resignation was the only option open to Governor Fubara if he does want to face the humiliation of impeachment.
Okocha said; “As a political party we are advising the Governor to either resign or be impeached. Those are the only two options before him. He has insulted the President and we warned him. Now we have reached the bus stop and this is our position. Let him resign or be impeached.

“If I was a member of the assembly I will not bath an eyelid to get him impeached. He described as Greek gift Fubara’s invitation to the lawmakers saying that that was not within the ambits of the law and already belated.
“The governor brought the infested fagot to the house, then ants have visited him. I told him earlier that those who were edging him on would leave him.
“And now is he not the one that will resign, are those who were telling him that he is the governor and has the red pen the ones who are going to resign?
“The only option open to him is to resign. The assembly doesn’t even need a long process because the Supreme Court has provided more than enough grounds to impeach him”.
For those who are threatening to compromise oil facilities to stop his impeachment Okocha warned that they would be the ones to suffer the consequences of burst oil pipeline and the pollution associated with that.
