Rivers APC expresses support for Fubara

Published by

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Emeka Beke has expressed support for the administration of Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The reinstated chairman of the APC, Emeka Beke in a television interview monitored in Port Harcourt expressed the party’s support for the leadership of the Governor.

In a television interview monitored in Port Harcourt, APC Chairman Emeka Beke affirmed the party’s backing for Governor Fubara, emphasizing that only one person can serve as governor at a time.

He assured that if the governor extends hands of fellowship to his party, they will support him to ensure Rivers State becomes an enviable state, through the promotion of development across the local government areas of the state.

In his words, “Fubara is the governor of Rivers State, and you cannot have two governors. Even if you give your biological son the position as governor, then you should allow him to function in it.

“If he extends a hand of fellowship to APC, we will work with him and develop the state. We can’t continue fighting; Rivers is going backwards. We have finished the politicking; it’s now time for governance.”

Recall that a Rivers State High Court presided by Justice Sika Aprioku, on Monday sacked the Rivers State Caretaker Committee of the APC led by Tony Okocha as inaugurated by the National Working Committee of the party and reinstated the elected party leadership under Beke.

Speaking on his loyalty to the APC and how he would ensure the unity of the party, Beke revealed that he would be organising a stakeholders meeting of the party in the course of the week, emphasising the need to prepare ahead of local government election slated for October.
