Rising Star: General Tchoutchoubatchou’s Journey from Geography Student to Comedy Icon

General Tchoutchoubatchou, born Abdou Kere on March 31, 1994, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, has quickly become a household name in the world of comedy. Growing up in Ivory Coast, he completed his primary and secondary education at the Djedji Amondjo Pierre modern high school in Adjamé, earning his baccalaureate in 2015. Seeking further education, he returned to Burkina Faso to study geography at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University.

However, his passion for comedy soon led him to a different path. In his second year at university, Tchoutchoubatchou decided to pursue a career in comedy. His dedication paid off when he starred in the feature film “Albert I Wanted to Be Ready” and the series “Medg Then” by director Abdoul Bagué in 2018. His breakthrough continued with a role in the 2019 feature film “Le Film” by director Dramane Gnessi.

Tchoutchoubatchou’s talent didn’t go unnoticed, as he was invited to perform at prominent festivals such as the Bonané Festival, the Nuit de la Parenté à Joisanterie, and the Garba Festival. Embracing the digital age, he ventured into web comedy in 2017, regularly posting on platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, where he has amassed over 6 million subscribers.

His influence in the comedy scene was recognized with several awards. In 2022, he received the Best Influencer Award at the Eucher Tv Awards in Lomé and the Most Influential Comedian Award at the Burkimbi Influence Awards. The following year, he was honored with the prize for Best African Web Actor at the African Talent Awards in Abidjan, solidifying his status as a leading figure in African comedy
