#RevolutionIsNow: Pro-government rally takes over Unity Fountain

A pro-government rally has just commenced at the Unity Fountain, Abuja venue of the planned RevolutionNow rally.

At about 12:10 pm, two heavy-duty commercial busses offloaded passengers in front of Millennium Park gate opposite the Unity Fountain.

As the disembarked passengers crossed the road into the Unity Fountain park, some of them spread their banners denouncing Boko Haram, terrorism and Amnesty international.

The Park had earlier been occupied by combat-ready policemen and members of Civil Defence Corps were seen occupying the space.

An early morning heavy downpour of rain which started at dawn abated at about noon.

As at 12 noon, there was no sign of any preparation for a rally at the venue.

In an apparent show of force, a long convoy of police, military and civil defence vehicles was seen patrolling the Central Business District encompassing Federal Secretariat, Three Arms Zone, Maitama (where Unity Fountain is located), causing some traffic hold up.

As at 12.40 pm, however, the group were singing and dancing.
