RETRACTION/APOLOGY

Our attention has been drawn to our online report of 7th August, 2024 with the title “FAMILY ASKS POLICE TO PROBE DEATH OF HOTEL MANAGER…INVESTIGATION OUTCOME WILL BE MADE KNOWN ON CONCLUSION” where we reported from a petition by The Akin Fadeyi Foundation to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) requesting for investigation on the death of Mr. Fidelis Osaghae on July 29th 2024. In the said report, we published that: Based on the above information stated, we strongly believe Mr Fidelis was in the custody of Mr. Oyemike Valentine until his death… We urge the Deputy Inspector General of Police to take over this matter and bring it to a just conclusion”.

We have since discovered that the report was not as exact as it was reported and we hereby retract the report in entirety.

We hold Mr. Oyemike Valentine in high esteem as we did not intend to malign him in any way.

We equally apologise for this mix-up.
