Our attention has been drawn to our online report of 10th October October 2023 with the title “DEMAND LETTER OF ‘CEACE AND DESIST’ ON ALL DEFAMATION, SLANDER AND SENATOR AHMED OGEMBE’ where we reported that “Wife of Ex-Nigerian Senator sentenced to 22 years in prison for Healthcare Fraud’.
We further reported thus: “How US Court Jailed Ex-Senator Ogembe’s wife over $24m scam”… United States District Court has sentenced Mrs. Tamara Ogembe, wife to Senator Ahmed Ogembe, former lawmaker representing Kogi Central in the 8th Senate, to 20 years in the Federal Prison consecutive to the other sentence for the aggravated identity theft count”…. “That she was found guilty of 20 counts of healthcare fraud, two counts of aggravated identity theft, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering”.
We have since discovered that the report was not as exact as it was reported and we hereby retract the report in entirety.
We hold Senator Ahmed Ogembe and his wife, Mrs Tamara Ogembe in high esteem as we did not intend to malign them in any way. We equally apologise for this mix-up.
