A governorship aspirant under the flagship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Lagos State, Chief Olanrewaju Ajani Jim-Kamal, has said that the restructuring of Nigeria will begin from Lagos State.
He stated this while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the event marking his birthday and formal declaration of his intention to contest for the office of the governor of Lagos State, which was held at Isheri Oke Mainland Club, Lagos.
Jim-Kamal noted that: “I want to make it abundantly clear to Nigerians that our brothers and sisters from the north are not against restructuring, probably their opposition was due to lack of understanding or they were not fully briefed.
“But by the time we start in Lagos, they will see a reason for everyone to adopt restructuring. What do we mean by restructuring? For all tiers of government in Nigeria to start doing the right thing, to have control over our rural resources, just to be paying a certain percentage to the Federal Government and that is why people like us supported the 2014 CONFAB report because we have seen that without a restructuring of this country, we are not moving forward at all.
“I am making it clear that Lagos being the centre of excellence, will surely show that leadership quality we are noted for and kickstart this restructuring process for the betterment of the lives of our people.
“I also want Nigerians to know that restructuring is not against Islam or any religion for that matter. As a matter of fact, I will never do anything that is against my religion or any other religion because we are all calling one indivisible God and by his grace, all will be well with us.”
