Respite for rural dwellers in Enugu as Ugwuanyi assures of even development

Published by

GOVERNOR Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has assured the people of his administration’s commitment to provide development projects in every council area in the state, praying for the turn-around of the state economy.

Ugwuanyi, who spoke through the Chairman of the Enugu State Urban Renewal Committee, Architect Chris Offor during the committee’s inspection tour of the ongoing construction works in the state at the weekend, noted that the present administration carefully designed a blueprint of development strategy that would ensure the execution of projects in all the communities in the state.

He regretted that the present economic challenges in the country had slowed down the vision.

Offor said that Governor Ugwuanyi still maintained his vision to give every council area in the state a sense of belonging, adding that his administration was on the verge of awarding contracts for the construction of 25 roads, including bridges, across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

He, therefore, called on communities that were yet to feel the impact of the administration to exercise patience and continue to offer special prayers for a positive turnaround in the nation’s economy.

The chairman disclosed that the tremendous achievements the governor had been able to record so far were in keeping with his promises as contained in his inaugural address, assuring that rapid

development would still be extended to other areas.

Offor also commended the quality of work done by most of the construction companies handling the road projects, stressing that it was in line with the promise the governor made to the people of the state to provide quality leadership for the overall benefit of the state.

He noted that Nike Lake, Abakpa Nike and 9th by pass roads, started by the present administration, had been completed.

Responding on behalf of other construction companies, the project manager of Ferotex Construction Company, Mr John Nkwueke, thanked the state government for its support and cooperation, which he said, made it possible for them to deliver quality work within the agreed time frame.
