Uche Secondus
National Vice Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have asked the embattled National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, to resign.
They noted that the resignation of Secondus was expedient to save the party from further disintegration.
The resolution was jointly signed by PDP National Vice Chairmen: Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja (South West), Chief Dan Osi (South-South), Chief Ali Odefa (South East) and Dankas Shau (North Central).
As contained in a statement issued by Arapaja’s media aide, Bamitale Ibrahim, at end of the meeting, the National Vice Chairmen advised Secondus to resign to save the party from more crisis.
The Vice-Chairmen attributed the movement of governors of the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the resignation of members of national officers of the party as evidence of inert leadership by Secondus.
The statement quoted some of the resolutions to include: “That the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, should resign and save the party from further disintegration being witnessed presently.
“That the resignation of its national officers is as a result of the inept leadership of the National Chairman, and as well the movement of Governors of the party to the failed ruling party.
“They as well resolved that all Party stakeholders and party faithful should remain calm and resolute to the party as the party is the only hope of all Nigerians.”
