Resident doctors begin seven-day warning strike

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has initiated a 7-day warning strike across all its centres nationwide to demand the release of Dr Ganiyat Popoola, who has been in captivity for over eight months.

NARD President, Dr. Dele Abdullahi, announced that the strike will commence at 12 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024.

The decision to go on strike was made during a virtual Emergency National Executive Council meeting held on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
