Rerun: Impressive turnout of women in Sokoto

Published by

There was an impressive turnout of women in the Sokoto state re-run election for the two house of representatives and three state assemblies election.

Our correspondent who monitored the election in the state confirmed that despite the voting apathy witnessed in most polling units in the state, most women in the city turned out for the election.

A voter, Aisha Umar, who spoke with our correspondent commended INEC as well as the security agencies for putting adequate arrangements for the election.

She blames the apathy witnessed in the state as a result of lack of confidence in the electoral umpire in the country.
