House of Representatives, on Tuesday, urged the Federal Government to immediately open the nation’s grain reserves and distribute grains to needy citizens to arrest the growing hunger in the land.
The resolution followed the adoption of a motion of national urgent importance moved by Hon Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka (APC-OGUN).
While moving the motion at the Plenary session presided over by Hon Tajudeen Abbas, Hon Isiaka lamented that the cost of living has become very difficult for Nigerians saying that the rising cost of cement has gone skyrocketing “Even though we have all the raw materials for the production here in Nigeria.”
According to the Lawmaker, “The House resolves to urge the Federal Government and stakeholders to immediately open the food reserves to address the hunger in our country.”
