Reps pass Petroleum Industry Bill for third reading

Finally, Nigeria’s House of Representatives on Thursday passed the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), 2021, through Third Reading.

The report of the special Ad-hoc Committee on PIB, chaired by the Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Mohammed Mongunu was laid before the House on Wednesday.

While leading the debate for the consideration of the bill, Hon. Mongunu solicited the support of members for the consideration of the recommendations on the Petroleum Industry Bill on an Act to provide legal, governance, regulatory and fiscal framework for the Nigerian Petroleum Industry, the Development of Host Communities; and for related matters, 2021.
