In a show of solidarity, the member representing Ethiope East/West constituency of Delta state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ehriatake Ibori-Suenu said Itiako Ikpokpo’s appointment as the Director General of ALGON nationwide, has affirmed the confidence reposed in him and his capacity to reposition the great institution to render service for the betterment of local government administration in Nigeria.
The representative who is the Chairman, Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) stated through a letter to the new director general of ALGON, saying that the appointment would also provide a veritable platform for the former council chairman, a grassroots mobilizer and a true son of the niger delta region to showcase the talent and capacity, for which Delta State is renowned.
Ikpokpo served as a former chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Delta State and a two-term Chairman of the Isoko South Local Government Council of the state.
His nomination by the National President of ALGON, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Mafata was ratified at the 47th National Executive Council meeting of the Association held in Abuja recently.
A native of Uro-Irri in Isoko South local government area of Delta State, Malik as he is popularly known is expected to bring his political sagacity and a decade of remarkable experience to bear in his new assignment.
